Abstract
This study was undertaken to evaluate the usefulness of brainstem auditory evoked potentials(BAEP) and median nerve somatosensory evoked potentials(SSEP) in vertebrobasilar insufficiency(VBI).
BAEP and median nerve SSEP studies were performed in 14 patients with VBI.
Abnormal BAEP and median nerve SSEP findings were detected in three(12.5%) and two(8.3%) patients, respectively. Though BAEP test was more sensitive than median tests could not be helpful in patients with VBI as a diagnostic test.
